First public release of the Automated Record Custody Standard, including 92 controls across 10 control families, 30 annexes, conformance guidance, and associated publication policies.

The v1.0 corpus is byte-frozen: published files do not change. Known defects are recorded in an errata ledger (releases/v1.0/ERRATA-LEDGER.md) and resolved only in a successor release. The frozen corpus is not asserted to be internally consistent.

Version policy

ARCS uses semantic versioning for published releases. Editorial and non-substantive revisions may be issued without affecting the validity of existing conformance claims. Unless otherwise stated, conformance claims to a prior major version remain valid for 12 months following publication of a new major version.
